Our Lunch Food Curation

From the winding slopes and towering spires of Central to the winding slopes and towering spires of Causeway Bay, it would not be outlandish to say that Hong Kong has an abundance of culinary options for any one person to try. As such, lunch alone can often be a trying task. Is this the day courage answers your summons, and you finally build it high enough to try the new Thai-fusion place across from your office? Do you return to the same cafe you’ve ordered from 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year, for the past 3 years? Do you dare venture beyond the confines of your closest MTR station and towards the frontiers, where the food is cheap but far away? Before you know it, half an hour has passed, and you’re not closer to making a decision. You admit defeat and order takeout from the nearest restaurant, neither better nor wiser for having sorted through the maddening chaos which is Hong Kong’s food scene.
This is where we, Plum, come in. Lunch does not need to be a Herculean trial. You need not wade through the wilderness unguided. Our presentation of 5 to 6 quality choices, carefully selected and curated by our very own staff, and delivered to you by the same hands, is our solution. Call us your “Sugar Plum Fairies”, dancing a Tchaikovskian ballet from restaurants all around, to your own office desk. It may sound melodramatic, even overly so, but to us, your lunch is no joke. We strive to provide the best of the best to you, because surely you deserve nothing less. We strive to overcome the obstacles and bumps along the way, because you are worth the effort to improve.
My name is Isaac, just one solitary member of this restaurant team. We are always on the move, notebook in hand and delicious sample in the other. Your lunch is the Eden to which we strive towards, but the journey would be moot if you were not with us every step along the way. The purpose of this blog is to provide an insight, a glimpse into our collective minds, our movements, and our taste buds. It is a tool through which Plum wishes to communicate to you with, and we whole-heartedly pray that you do the same.
Gordon Ramsay once said that “cooking is about passion, so it may look slightly temperamental in a way that it’s too assertive to the naked eye.” More than anything we have offered to you, within and without the words of this post, we hope that this running blog serves as a lens that the temperaments may part like the clouds, and you may see the passion we clearly exhibit for you, with your very own eyes.
With utmost regards,
Isaac (Team Plum)
